The recently launched Doner Pasha Oven and Grill Café, the first specialised Doner Kebab café in the Sultanate, offers a lot of delicious Turkish dishes.
Doner Pasha Oven and Grill Café, the first exclusive Doner Kebab café in the Sultanate, officially opened recently under the auspices of Sheikh Salah Al Ma’wali, director general of the SME development, Muscat. The ceremony was also attended by representatives from the Turkish and American Embassies. Doner kebab is a Turkish dish made of meat cooked on a vertical spit, normally veal or beef or chickens. The cafe also serves different kinds of salads, hot and cold sandwiches, pizza and assorted freshly backed pastries.
Doner Pasha Oven and Grill Café, which serves high-quality and healthy food, also provides delivery services to orders received from central business district area, Darseet and Muttrah. It has plans to expand the delivery service at a later stage.
“This is the first specialised Doner Kebab café in the Sultanate,” says its owner Mohamed bin Mohsin bin Baqer Al Abdullatif. “We tied up with GirosKetering, the Turkey-based producer of complete Doner Kebab meat lines, machines and equipment, which operates a series of exclusive doner kabab restaurant in 12 countries around the world. Since we did our soft opening on January 24, we got very exciting response and good feedback about our dishes from the customers. We open in early morning hours and recently launched our special breakfast menu. We started our delivery services recently and also did our first birthday barbeque.”
“The idea came to me in 2008 due to the lack of specialised restaurant in serving the Turkish doner kabab. It first dawned on my wife when she studied in the UK. Doner Kebab is a very common dish across Europe. We made a feasibility study and came to an agreement with GirosKetering to set up the restaurant in Oman. All the machinery and equipment was imported from Turkey in September and in November we got our Kebab Master from GirosKetering to train our people.”
“Despite the many difficulties that usually face starter ups, I managed to overcome these challenges and turn my dream into reality. The cafe, which is located in al Muthana square in the CBD area near Oman Oil petrol station, has the required facilities and qualified staff that can meet the needs of banquets, wedding ceremonies and daily orders.
