Bank Nizwa wins ‘Strongest Islamic Retail Bank in Oman’ award

Bank Nizwa claimed two awards at the 7th World Islamic Retail Banking Conference winning the ‘Strongest Islamic Retail Bank in Oman’, while its AGM of Retail Banking, Asad Batla, swooped the ‘Upcoming Personality in Retail Banking’ for the year.
Since inception, Bank Nizwa has time and again proved its commitment to redefining the banking experience in Oman. Working to achieve its goals, the Retail Division has been providing customers with innovative products and services, all underpinned by responsive customer care and technologically advanced solutions to meet today’s dynamic lifestyles. This approach has brought about positive change in Oman’s retail banking sphere, prompting other institutions to re-examine their product and service offerings. In addition, the Division has also helped solidify the Bank’s position as the leading Islamic Bank in Oman, while expanding its network to 11 branches strategically located across the Sultanate.
Receiving the award on behalf of Bank Nizwa, Dr. Ashraf Al Nabhani, General Manager Corporate Support, said, “It is truly an honour to receive such recognition from an organization that is considered to be a point of reference in our growing industry. Bank Nizwa has once again demonstrated its ability to offer competitive Shari’a-compliant products and services that have been singled out for their excellence and to that end; I extend my sincere gratitude to both the Bank’s employees and customers who have made this possible.”
He added, “I would also like to congratulate our AGM of Retail Banking, Asad Batla for winning the award of ‘Upcoming Personality in Retail Banking’ for the year and representing Bank Nizwa in the best way possible.”
In its debut year, the Islamic Retail Banking Awards have been designed to recognize the contribution of individuals and institutions in the Islamic finance sector. These are assessed and selected based on a rigorous efficiency study conducted by an independent UAE-based Islamic finance research organization. More than 25 awards were presented, going to some of the most successful Islamic retail banks and experts from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
